Justice Cheer Scholarship grows to endowment level
The Morehead State University Foundation proudly announces that the Justice Cheer Scholarship has reached endowment level, securing the fund for future generations.
This endowment was made possible through a generous lead gift from Ramona Justice Vikan (Class of 1998), a distinguished alum who hopes to honor MSU's legacy and support future students in their pursuit of excellence, leadership and service.
Vikan graduated from Morehead State with a degree in business administration and an emphasis on computer information systems. Her professional journey included leadership roles at Technology, Acquisition, and Consulting Group (TACG), where she managed complex contracts and provided strategic consulting for the Department of Defense, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the Food and Drug Administration.
Her work earned her recognition for excellence in federal contracting and program management. Vikan's contributions to her field and her alma mater have been widely recognized. She received the inaugural Outstanding Community Board Service Award from the Dayton Chamber of Commerce in 2019 and served a four-year term on the board of the Dayton Art Institute. She was inducted into the Morehead State Alumni Hall of Fame in 2021.
Among her most treasured memories from Morehead State is her time as a co-ed cheerleader under the leadership of Myron Doan, during which she helped win three national cheerleading titles. She credits that experience with instilling in her the values of teamwork, discipline, and confidence, qualities that guided her throughout her career and continue to inspire her in retirement.
Through this scholarship, Vikan honors MSU's legacy and supports future members of co-ed or all-girl cheer teams in their pursuit of excellence, leadership, and service.
