Morehead Madness
Consider yourself a bracketologist? Think you can predict who will make it all the way to the title game and cut down the nets? Here's your chance to prove it against your fellow MSU students. On Sunday, March 17, the 2024 NCAA Division One basketball tournament bracket will be announced, and the annual campus-wide program sponsored by the Office of Student Housing and the Residence Halls Association will officially open. It's your chance to compete against fellow students, MSU faculty and MSU staff to see who is the best around and try to win some great prizes along the way.
How to Sign Up:
To sign up for Morehead Madness 2024, follow these easy steps:
- Visit ESPN.com's Tournament Challenge web portal.
- If you do not already have an ESPN account, create a user account and an entry (Your entry for Morehead Madness must be your first and last name, or your entry will not be eligible to win).
Once you have created an entry, you need to join the official Morehead Madness group. To do that:
- Select "My groups" from the top of your entry.
- Scroll down to the box that says "Search Groups" and enter "Morehead State Housing".
- Join that group.
- Make your selections after the brackets are released on Sunday night, March 17, 2024, until the brackets are locked on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at tipoff of the first games. You can sign up now, well before brackets are released, and fill them out once they are made available.
Prize Information:
Aside from the bragging rights that come with being the campus Morehead Madness champion and best bracketologist around, prizes will be given to the following contestants:
- 1st prize: $100 in BeakerBucks.
- 2nd prize: $50 in BeakerBucks.
- 3rd prize: $25 in BeakerBucks.
- Random draw: five participants will be randomly drawn to win $10 in BeakerBucks.
Contest Rules:
- Morehead Madness is only open to current Morehead State students and current faculty/staff.
- Only one bracket per registrant is allowed in the contest.
- Brackets participating in Morehead Madness will be locked at tipoff of the games on Thursday, March 21, 2024. This prevents participants from switching their bracket to a better-performing one.
- Faculty/Staff are not eligible for prizes and prizes will be awarded to the top three finishing students and five randomly drawn students. In the event the random draw produces a faculty/staff member, another name will be drawn until a student is drawn.
- Random draw winners will be announced on X (@MSU_Housing) after all games on Friday, March 22, have been completed; after all games on Sunday, March 24, have been completed; after all games on Friday, March 29, have been completed; after all games on Sunday, March 31, have been completed and after all games on Saturday, April 6, have been completed.
- Winning a random draw does not prevent you from winning the grand prize, second place and third place prize.
- Winners of random draws and final prizes will be emailed to accept their prizes. Students are strongly encouraged to consult with financial aid to determine the impact of these prizes on their aid package and cost of attendance before accepting.
