MSU Trombone Symposium 2024

The 2024 MSU Trombone Symposium featuring Yu Tamaki Hoso will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from noon to 5 p.m. at Baird Music Hall. The event is free and open to the public

12 p.m.- Welcome Concert featuring the MSU Trombone Ensemble
12:30 p.m.- Warm-up clinic and Symposium Choir rehearsal with Dr. Justin Croushore
1:45 p.m.- Yu Tamaki Hoso guest artist masterclass
3:15 p.m.- Symposium Choir rehearsal
4 p.m.- STS Final Concert featuring Yu Tamaki Hoso, the Symposium Trombone Choir, and the MSU Trombone Emsemble

Guest Artist Yu Tamaki

Yu Tamaki Hoso is a chamber and orchestra musician, educator, entrepreneur, published author,and producer. Tamaki currently lives in Denmark and is an official artist for Pro Arte Musicae of Tokyo, S.E. Shires Company of Boston, and Willie's Custom Brass of Yamanashi. He is the music director of FukuTama Festival in Shimane, a member of the Slide Japan Trombone Octet and the FukuTama Trombone Quartet. Hoso will be appointed as a distinguished visiting professor at Osaka University of Arts later this spring.
