What You’ll Learn in Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education
This certification equips professionals to teach in public and private schools, Head Start programs, and to serve as Developmental Interventionists (DI) in early intervention systems.
What You Can Do with an Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Degree
Candidates will be qualified for employment and management positions in private early childhood program facilities and Head Start programs as lead teachers, assistant teachers, and program directors, working with children from birth to 5 years old. The candidates will be equipped with in-demand skills such as speaking, writing, working with others, critical thinking, and professionalism.
Admission to the Interdisciplinary Early Childhood Education Program
The first step is admission to Morehead State University (Traditional IECE Program or Option 9 IECE).
In addition to meeting the general requirements for admission to the University, students seeking teacher certification must apply for and be admitted to the Teacher Education Program (TEP). Additionally, to enroll in the clinical practice and meet state certification requirements, students must maintain a GPA of 2.75 overall (including professional education courses) and no grade lower than a "C" in professional education courses.
