Green Dot Violence Prevention Program
Green Dot is an evidence-based violence prevention program that focuses on bystander intervention. Its inclusive approach encourages everyone to take a role in creating a safe and welcoming campus community. Morehead State University is partnering with Pathways, Inc. to implement Green Dot campus-wide this fall, and we are beginning that process by engaging faculty and staff.
The Green Dot Bystander Prevention presentation provides participants with an overview of the program and tools and techniques for intervening in ways that feel practical for them on a personal level. In this way, the program not only dispenses general education on power-based violence but also provides a unique, individually-tailored plan of action for each participant.
The interactive presentation is approximately 90 minutes long. Each presentation will include small group, peer-to-peer discussions about organic ways to intervene in high-risk situations and broader, whole group discussions about ways to establish meaningful cultural changes within our communities. Presentations occur via Zoom video conferencing.
