Celebrate Observe the Moon Night at MSU’s Star Theater
On Saturday, Oct. 4, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., Morehead State University’s Star Theater will host a celebration for International Observe the Moon Night, a global event dedicated to sharing lunar science and exploration.
The evening will feature a wide range of activities for all ages, including:
- Back-to-back full-dome planetarium and laser shows
- Space exploration videos in the rotunda
- Hands-on children’s activities, including balloon car races
- Solarscope and telescope viewing (weather permitting)
- Cosmic-themed quilt displays by the Rowan County Quilters
- Live music from Back Room Strings
- Pizza and refreshments
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for children and seniors, and free for kids under age 3. Guests may register and pay in advance by credit card, or purchase tickets at the door with cash, credit card, or check.
The Star Theater, located in the Ronald G. Eaglin Space Science Center at 235 Martindale Dr. Morehead, KY 40351, is a state-of-the-art digital planetarium that offers public shows on select Saturdays throughout the year. In addition to planetarium and laser shows, the theater is also available during the week for school and community groups.
