KFAC Selected for 2025 Louisville Photo Biennial

The Kentucky Folk Art Center has been selected to be featured in the 2025 Louisville Photo Biennial with the current exhibition, “Hallelujah Anyway: A Portrait of Kentucky,” photographs by Louisville-based artist Michael Morris.

The exhibition, which opened Aug. 1 and runs through Dec. 1, 2025, highlights Morris’s ongoing photographic journey across the Commonwealth.

Since 2011, he has traveled more than 250,000 miles along Kentucky’s backroads and byways, documenting fading landscapes, forgotten towns, and resilient people through the lens of a vintage Hasselblad medium-format camera and black-and-white film.

Working in the tradition of Depression-era photographers such as Walker Evans and Dorothea Lange, Morris captures the fleeting beauty of Kentucky’s rural and urban life—scenes often lost to time, sprawl, and change.

The Kentucky Folk Art Center is located at 102 West First Street in Morehead. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
