Morehead State Star Theater offers summer shows and Fourth of July celebration
Families seeking fun, educational summer activities can explore the universe at Morehead State University’s Star Theater, where a series of public planetarium programs will run throughout the season, along with a special Independence Day celebration.
The Star Theater will host a special July Fourth Celebration featuring laser shows, astronomy programming and family-friendly activities. The day's schedule includes a Taylor Swift Laser Show at 11:30 a.m., a Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon Laser Show at 2 p.m., live night sky presentations with fireworks projected onto the theater's dome, and a "Fun with Food" activity where guests can make their own ice cream at 12:30 p.m.
The Star Theater's summer schedule continues with public shows on July 11 and July 25, featuring planetarium presentations at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Each event also includes a hands-on science activity at 12:30 p.m., giving visitors an opportunity to learn through interactive experiences.
This month's hands-on activities include:
- July 11: Rocket Blast
- July 25: Make Music
The Star Theater welcomes visitors year-round with public programs held on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for children and seniors, and free for Morehead State students. Cash, checks and credit cards are accepted.
