Campus Accessibility Guide

The Campus Map includes building locations, parking and other important information.

Below is a list of campus buildings with information on accessible entrances. If you encounter a barrier to accessing campus buildings or activities, please inform Disability Services; a barrier needing immediate resolution should be reported to Morehead State Police via the LiveSafe app.

Should an elevator be out of order, contact Disability Services at 606-783-5188 if you cannot use stairs to reach an above-ground floor.

Enter at ground level through the main entrance doors. No automatic door opener. Seating for events is at floor level.

MAIN CAMPUS ENTRANCE, OPENS TO THE SECOND FLOOR

Approaching from the bell tower, the sidewalk levels out onto a courtyard at the building's main entrance. Around to the left (when facing the building) is another set of doors with an automatic opener. There are elevators to the left, right, and straight ahead.


SECOND ST. ENTRANCE (BESIDE STARBUCKS), OPENS TO THE FIRST FLOOR

There are two sets of double doors. The set on the right has an automatic door opener. The elevator is inside to the right, immediately past the Admissions Welcome Center.


UNIVERSITY STORE ENTRANCE, OPENS TO THE FIRST FLOOR

From the courtyard between ADUC and Lappin Hall, there is a ramp to the left that leads to the Store’s double-door entrance. There is no automatic door opener. The Store may be exited directly into the first floor of ADUC where there is an elevator on the right.  


ENTRANCE ACROSS FROM THE PRESIDENT’S HOUSE, OPENS TO THE FIRST FLOOR 

An accessible door is under the awning that covers the sidewalk. There is an automatic opener. Once inside, go to the right, behind the staircase and past the University Store’s secondary entrance. The elevator is on the right.

The accessible door is at ground level at the front of the building. Starting from the bell tower, use the series of ramps and sidewalks approaching the Library, and then take the sidewalk leading toward Allie Young on the right. The ramp to the door is below a wide concrete staircase. There is an automatic door opener. The elevator is at the end of the first hallway on your left.

To reach the Alumni Tower residences, take the pedestrian bridge above the parking lot and enter through the main doors. There is an automatic door opener. The elevator is immediately inside.

The accessible ramp can be reached on the right side of the front courtyard. Follow the sidewalk to the left side of the building, taking a winding ramp to the front doors. There is an automatic door opener. Once inside, make your way across the lobby to the left. The elevator is located beside the front desk.

Baird consists of two distinct buildings and an external crosswalk. An accessible door is located at the far left side and serves the first building's ground floor as well as linking through room 117 to the bottom level of Duncan Recital Hall.

For entrance to the second building, take the sidewalk parallel to the front of the building, making a left turn onto the elevated crosswalk just past the canal. The elevator is inside the first glass door on the right, and accesses the second floor of both buildings and the upper level of the Duncan Recital Hall. No automatic door opener.

The accessible door is at the front of the building on the far left side. Take the long hallway on the right, pass through the main lobby, and turn left at the next hallway to reach the elevator.

The accessible door is located on the front of the building at the far right side. Use the sidewalk leading past the center entry stairs. No automatic door opener or elevator. The stage may be reached using a key-operated lift.

There are two accessible entrances to the Library. From the front, a series of ramps and sidewalks lead from the bell tower to the base of an outdoor staircase on the right side of the building. Press the call button on the door next to the stairs to signal a library employee to open it. Once inside, the elevator is on the right in a corner. From the back of the library near the top of the outside staircase, press the call button on the door for library personnel. Once inside, the elevator is at the opposite end of the room on the back wall.

The accessible entrance is reached from the sidewalk that leads slightly behind Fields Hall, to the left of the Library's main doorways. There is no automatic door opener. It is also possible to reach Career Services by taking the elevator to the basement from inside the library.

From the student parking lot, take the crosswalk across the street and come to the side doors. There is an automatic door opener. The elevator is on the left. From the back parking lot, go through the double doors. There is an automatic door opener. Follow the hallway towards the front doors. Once in the lobby, turn right and go past the staircase. Continue and the elevator is on the right. From the accessible doors on Second Street, go to the left across the lobby. The elevator is on the right.

The accessible entrance is on the back side of the building. Facing the front of the building, navigate the right side to access the ramp. There is no automatic door opener.

The accessible door is located on the side of the building facing the Howell-McDowell Administration Building. There is an automatic door opener. Immediately enter through a second accessible door and continue to follow the winding hallway, past the main entrance and central gallery. The elevator will be on your left.

The accessible door is at the back of the building, across from a parking lot. There is an automatic door opener. Once inside, take the ramp on the left to reach the elevator. 

Access the Office of Communications & Marketing from the parking lot facing Eagle Lake. Two accessible entrances are located on either side of the building. One, which leads to Student Housing, is under the outside staircase. The other is the entrance facing Andrews Hall. Both entrances have automatic door openers.

The accessible door is at the front of the building, at the end of a ramp on the left. There is an automatic door opener. There is no elevator in this building.

Located on First Street in downtown Morehead, this building has a ramp at the back entrance. Entry during tours arranged through the Kentucky Folk Art Center: 606-783-2204.

The University Farm is located on Cranston Road/ Route 377. Some of the buildings are accessible. Contact 606-783-2802 for assistance.

From the parking lot, there is a ramp to the main entrance. No automatic door opener.

The accessible door is at the center of the building. There is an automatic door opener. The elevator is just inside on the right.

The accessible entrance is at the front of the building. Take the ramp near the front doors. The automatic door opener is on the left. After entering the building, the elevator is to the right.

The main entrance has a ramp. No automatic door opener.

After passing the Lloyd Cassidy Building and a parking lot, take the pedestrian crosswalk leading to the left to reach the main entrance of the building (it faces Second Street). There is an automatic door opener. Just past the lobby, the elevator is on the left.

The accessible door is at the basement level of the building, to the right of the main stairway and entrance. From the hallway on the left you can scan a Fields Hall resident access card to use the elevator.

There are accessible entrances on both sides of the building. From the front, take the ramp that runs parallel to Ginger Hall, then take the ramp next to Rader Hall, followed by a third ramp to your left, leading directly to the front entrance. There is an automatic door opener.

Once inside, the elevator is at the end of the lobby on the left. From the back of the building, take the ramp to the left of the stairs. There is an automatic door opener. This entrance opens onto the third floor. Once inside, the elevator will be on the right.

The accessible door is at the front of the building, to the left of the stairs. Take the door on the right at the end of the ramp leading down. The elevator is directly across the open room.

The accessible door is at the front left side of the building. At the top of the ramp, the automatic door opener is on the right side. Go through the hallway directly across from the entrance. At the end of that hall, take a right. The elevator is at the end of the second hallway.

The entrance is on Main Street. There is no automatic door opener.

Ramps to grandstands are available from each gate.

Main Street entrance is at ground level. No automatic door opener and no elevator.

Ramp on left side of building. No automatic door opener.

The accessible door is at the main front entrance. There is an automatic door opener. Once inside the two double doors, the elevator is directly ahead.

The accessible door is on the front of the building. From the rear parking lot, take the ramp at the far right side of the building, which leads to the accessible entry on the front. There is no elevator in this building. Note: there is not an accessible route from inside this building to the adjoining Wetherby Gymnasium.

The accessible door is located at the front of the building on the left side. There is an automatic door opener. Once inside, take the first right. Turn left by room number 107, and the elevator is straight ahead.

The accessible door is the main entrance at the front of the building. There is an automatic door opener. After entering an interior access door, the elevator will be on your left.

The ramp on the right side of the building leads to first-floor entry. No automatic door opener or elevator.

The accessible door is at the front of the building. Approach the door across the right front courtyard. Once inside, the elevator is to the left.

Located inside Laughlin Health Building. Once inside Laughlin, the department is to the left.

The accessible entrance is at the side of the building, directly in front of the handicap parking lot. An elevator is immediately inside. There is no automatic door opener.

The accessible door is below the main building at the top of the ramp. The elevator is located just inside the lobby.

The ramp on the left side of the building leads to first-floor entry. No automatic door opener or elevator.

The accessible entrance is at the back of the house and is approached from the sidewalk in front of Button Auditorium. A metal gate with a pull-slide latch must be opened, after which a sidewalk leads across the yard to the house. A self-operated outdoor lift to the side porch will give access to the first floor. Note: this is a private residence, so prearrangement is necessary to use these accessibility features.

The accessible door is behind the building. Take the ramp parallel to Ginger Hall, followed by the ramp next to Rader, followed by a third ramp leading to the front of Ginger Hall. Bear right across the patio toward Rader's entrance. There is an automatic door opener. Once inside, the elevator will be on your immediate right.

From the Center’s parking lot, the accessible entrance is the farthest left door on the rotunda. There is an automatic door opener. To reach the elevator, go straight toward the equipment room, immediately past the staircase.

The accessible door is at the main entrance, beneath an elevated walkway. The ramp to the door comes from the right side. Once inside, the elevator is on the immediate left. There is no automatic door opener.

There is an accessible ramp at the main entrance.

The accessible entrance to the Rock faces the area between Nunn Hall and East Mignon Hall. There is an automatic door opener.

The accessible entrance is at ground level at the front of the building, where two consecutive doors lead to the rotunda. The first hallway to the left leads to a self-operated wheelchair lift, which opens onto the floor of the Star Theatre.
To reach the building's second floor from the rotunda, take the hallway on the left, followed by the next hallway to your right. The elevator is located just past the restrooms.

Spectator access is reached via a ramp on the left side of the bleachers. Access to the field is through the gate next to the restrooms.

From the courtyard between ADUC and Lappin Hall, there is a ramp to the left that leads to the Store’s main entrance. There is no automatic door opener. The Store may also be entered/exited directly from inside the first floor of ADUC.

The accessible entrance is on the right side of the building. A ramp leads to a door with an automatic opener.
