Course Requirements

What You’ll Learn in the substance use disorders Minor Program

Gain knowledge and experience to pursue certification as an alcohol and drug counselor. You get certification from the Kentucky Alcohol and Drug Abuse Certification Board. 

What You Can Do with a substance use disorders Minor

Become an alcohol and drug counselor. Play an important role in tackling the widespread problem of substance abuse.  

Morehead State University prepares students for careers in the treatment of substance use disorders.  

MSU program options:  

  • Bachelor of Social Work with a minor in Substance Use Disorders  
  • Master of Arts in Sociology with Substance Use Disorders Concentration  
  • Master of Public Administration with Counseling Addiction Services Management Concentration 
  • Minor in Substance Use Disorders (added to any other major) 

What makes the substance use disorders Minor unique

Helps to meet 225 of the required 300 hours of classroom education for licensure as a CADC in Kentucky. Students should refer to the licensing board in the state they wish to be licensed in for the most up-to-date requirements.

Admissions to substance use disorders Minor
