Out-of-State Scholarships

Morehead State awards more than $15M in University and MSU Foundation scholarships and grants annually. MSU offers a variety of scholarships based on several criteria, including academic excellence, area of study, type of student, where you live, and your needs.

This information applies to new students for the 2025-26 school year.

 

Specialized incoming student scholarships

Reciprocity Merit Scholarship Tier 1 3.75 GPA and 28 ACT composite $7,000
Reciprocity Merit Scholarship Tier 2 3.5 GPA and 24 ACT composite  $4,000
Reciprocity Merit Scholarship Tier 3 3.0 GPA and 21 ACT composite $1,500
Alumni Scholarship^ Child, grandchild, or spouse of an MSU alumnus up to $1,000

*Housing stipend cost of honors hall, $500 textbook stipend, a designated meal plan, $1,500 one-time education abroad allowance.
^ Separate application process required.

Note: Unweighted high school GPA utilized for all scholarships; Scholarships require on-campus housing for a minimum of 4 semesters. There is a 40% reduction in scholarships if the housing requirement is not met. Must be enrolled full-time at MSU to receive scholarships.
