Executive Board

The Student Government Association (SGA) comprises three separate interrelated bodies: the Executive Board, the Legislative Branch and the Judicial Branch. The Executive Board consists of five elected officers serving the student body. Elections are held during the spring semester.

PRESIDENT

 Thomas is a senior sociology and social justice major from Louisville, Kentucky. He served on SGA as the Secretary of Public Relations for the 2024-2025 academic year and as an At-Large Representative for the 2023-2024 academic year. Thomas also serves as the Interfraternity Council President at MSU and is a member of the Eta Chi chapter of Alpha Sigma Phi at MSU, as well as a resident advisor on campus. VICE PRESIDENT

Sami Johnson is an exercise science major from Lexington, KY. She previously served on SGA as an At-Large Representative in Spring 2025. Secretary of Internal Affairs

Kyah Tappmeyer is a Legal Studies and Public History major from Louisville, Kentucky. She has been active in student leadership, previously serving on SGA as an at-large representative and vice chair of the Internal Affairs Committee. In addition to her role as vice president of Women in Law, Kyah is a member of the Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) and participates in the Honors Program. Secretary of PUBLIC RELATIONS

Molly Boyd is a nursing major from Prestonsburg, KY. She previously served on SGA as the Junior Representative for the 2024-2025 academic year. While she was the Junior Representative, Molly served on the Public Relations and Campus Involvement committee. She also serves as the Alumni Relations coordinator for MSU’s Delta Zeta chapter, President of Tau Sigma, Secretary of Order of Omega, Vice President of Public Relations for the Student Nurses Association, and Sweetheart for Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. secretary of CAMPUS INVOLVEMENT

Avery Hendrixson is a middle grades education major from Cincinnati, Ohio. She previously served on SGA as an At-Large representative for the 2024-2025 academic year. Avery also serves as the Director of Scholarship for MSU’s Delta Gamma chapter, as well as secretary for Kentucky Educators Association- AE.
