Public ShowS
The Star Theater planetarium normally offers public shows on second and fourth Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. (full-dome planetarium feature), 1:30 p.m. (full-dome planetarium feature and live night sky presentation), and 3:30 p.m. (laser show), throughout the year on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets can be purchased at the door by cash, check, or credit card.
A Star Theater show includes a special feature from our extensive planetarium feature (link to planetarium feature library) or laser feature (link to laser show library) libraries. Planetarium feature shows include a live tour of the night sky on our full-dome screen. We have planetarium feature shows for a full range of science topics, and laser shows for a full range of well-loved music and music groups. Our crew consists of MSU undergraduate students, so we occasionally adjust our schedule during final exams or break periods. Our schedule continues through the summer and includes major events like International Observe the Moon Night, Valentine's under the Stars, and the Fourth under the Stars.
