FRATERNITY & SORORITY LIFE
As an MSU student, joining a fraternity or sorority may give you a few more letters you'll grow to love. With more than 16% of the student population members of a Greek letter organization, it is a great way to get involved, gain support and build lifelong friendships.
Leadership
Taking on leadership positions in your chapter allows you to lead committees, manage budgets and build your network through interactions with faculty and administrators, community members and leaders, and fellow Greeks locally and nationwide.
Recruitment
To experience fraternity and sorority life, you must participate in Recruitment or the Membership Intake process. These processes allow you to explore the chapters and find the fraternity or sorority that matches your ambitions, aspirations and values. The Recruitment and Intake processes are a great way to make new friends and meet people from various backgrounds.

Giving Back
Greek organizations wouldn't have existed for more than 100 years if all they did was socialize. These fraternities and sororities value loyalty, friendship and honesty while emphasizing academic excellence and community service. When you go Greek, you also give back. MSU chapters provide over 4,000 hours of community service and raise $21,500 for local and national nonprofit organizations.
Governing Councils
MSU has three fraternity and sorority governing councils: the Interfraternity Council, the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and the National Panhellenic Conference. View Requirements to explore these councils.
