New Residence Hall

MSU is constructing a second new residence in the spring of 2027. This building is currently in the planning phase, and site preparation is underway.

About the Building

MSU’s Board of Regents and the Council on Postsecondary Education have approved the $10 million building, which will house approximately 80 students. Construction should begin this summer.

The new hall will be similar in architecture to the new Prefontaine Hall on Martindale Drive and will be located near the existing Normal Hall, which will be razed over the summer.

Built in 1967, Normal Hall is a four-story, 40-unit student apartment building that was renovated in 2004. It was named in honor of Morehead Normal School, which opened in 1887 as the University’s predecessor institution.
