About the Building
Continued investment in student success and campus vitality took a major step forward in June as the Morehead State University Board of Regents approved the construction of a third new residence hall.
The New Residence Hall #3 will be approximately 40,000 square feet and include 80+ beds arranged as 2-person private-bedroom micro-apartments with a single shared restroom. The site is expected to be near the former Butler Hall, just west of Martin Hall. The total anticipated project budget is $20 million, funded by the Kentucky General Assembly.
The new residence hall will complement two other new residential facilities, Prefontaine Hall and Martin Hall, which are currently under construction. Prefontaine Hall opened in August 2026, and Martin Hall will open in 2027. The third new residence hall will open in 2028-29.
